Dispensary Application Deadline Arrives

The deadline is here for New Yorkers to apply for the chance to operate one of the state’s first adult-use marijuana dispensaries. One month after launching the online portal, the state is officially closing the application period for Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary licenses. It marks a new chapter in the state’s long march toward legal marijuana sales. Officials with the Office of Cannabis Management, who have already begun approving conditional licenses for farmers and businesses that will grow and manufacture recreational cannabis, will start reviewing applications for the CAURD licenses. The first dispensary licenses will go to New Yorkers with both business experience and prior cannabis convictions. If selected, the state will connect applicants with a retail location for their dispensary, as well as other support from a new social equity fund. New York is aiming to open at least some of those businesses by the end of the year, though some have cast doubt on that timeline. Click  here for the rest of the story!
